60.4.3.  Almost every day, either in company with the whole senate or alone, he would sit on a tribunal trying cases, usually in the Forum, but sometimes elsewhere; for he renewed the practice of having advisers sit with him, a practice that had been abandoned from the time that Tiberius withdrew to his island. 60.4.4.  He also frequently joined the consuls and the praetors, especially those who had the oversight of the fices, in their investigations, and very few, indeed, were the cases that he turned over to the other courts.
