| 1.6. לְהָבִין מָשָׁל וּמְלִיצָה דִּבְרֵי חֲכָמִים וְחִידֹתָם׃ 6.16. שֶׁשׁ־הֵנָּה שָׂנֵא יְהוָה וְשֶׁבַע תועבות [תּוֹעֲבַת] נַפְשׁוֹ׃ 6.17. עֵינַיִם רָמוֹת לְשׁוֹן שָׁקֶר וְיָדַיִם שֹׁפְכוֹת דָּם־נָקִי׃ 6.19. יָפִיחַ כְּזָבִים עֵד שָׁקֶר וּמְשַׁלֵּחַ מְדָנִים בֵּין אַחִים׃ 7.6. כִּי בְּחַלּוֹן בֵּיתִי בְּעַד אֶשְׁנַבִּי נִשְׁקָפְתִּי׃ 7.7. וָאֵרֶא בַפְּתָאיִם אָבִינָה בַבָּנִים נַעַר חֲסַר־לֵב׃ 7.8. עֹבֵר בַּשּׁוּק אֵצֶל פִּנָּהּ וְדֶרֶךְ בֵּיתָהּ יִצְעָד׃ 7.9. בְּנֶשֶׁף־בְּעֶרֶב יוֹם בְּאִישׁוֹן לַיְלָה וַאֲפֵלָה׃ 7.11. הֹמִיָּה הִיא וְסֹרָרֶת בְּבֵיתָהּ לֹא־יִשְׁכְּנוּ רַגְלֶיהָ׃ 7.12. פַּעַם בַּחוּץ פַּעַם בָּרְחֹבוֹת וְאֵצֶל כָּל־פִּנָּה תֶאֱרֹב׃ 7.13. וְהֶחֱזִיקָה בּוֹ וְנָשְׁקָה־לּוֹ הֵעֵזָה פָנֶיהָ וַתֹּאמַר לוֹ׃ 7.14. זִבְחֵי שְׁלָמִים עָלָי הַיּוֹם שִׁלַּמְתִּי נְדָרָי׃ 7.15. עַל־כֵּן יָצָאתִי לִקְרָאתֶךָ לְשַׁחֵר פָּנֶיךָ וָאֶמְצָאֶךָּ׃ 7.16. מַרְבַדִּים רָבַדְתִּי עַרְשִׂי חֲטֻבוֹת אֵטוּן מִצְרָיִם׃ 7.17. נַפְתִּי מִשְׁכָּבִי מֹר אֲהָלִים וְקִנָּמוֹן׃ 7.18. לְכָה נִרְוֶה דֹדִים עַד־הַבֹּקֶר נִתְעַלְּסָה בָּאֳהָבִים׃ 7.19. כִּי אֵין הָאִישׁ בְּבֵיתוֹ הָלַךְ בְּדֶרֶךְ מֵרָחוֹק׃ 7.21. הִטַּתּוּ בְּרֹב לִקְחָהּ בְּחֵלֶק שְׂפָתֶיהָ תַּדִּיחֶנּוּ׃ 7.22. הוֹלֵךְ אַחֲרֶיהָ פִּתְאֹם כְּשׁוֹר אֶל־טָבַח יָבוֹא וּכְעֶכֶס אֶל־מוּסַר אֱוִיל׃ 7.23. עַד יְפַלַּח חֵץ כְּבֵדוֹ כְּמַהֵר צִפּוֹר אֶל־פָּח וְלֹא־יָדַע כִּי־בְנַפְשׁוֹ הוּא׃ 24.31. וְהִנֵּה עָלָה כֻלּוֹ קִמְּשֹׂנִים כָּסּוּ פָנָיו חֲרֻלִּים וְגֶדֶר אֲבָנָיו נֶהֱרָסָה׃ 24.33. מְעַט שֵׁנוֹת מְעַט תְּנוּמוֹת מְעַט חִבֻּק יָדַיִם לִשְׁכָּב׃ 30.6. אַל־תּוֹסְףְּ עַל־דְּבָרָיו פֶּן־יוֹכִיחַ בְּךָ וְנִכְזָבְתָּ׃ 30.11. דּוֹר אָבִיו יְקַלֵּל וְאֶת־אִמּוֹ לֹא יְבָרֵךְ׃ 30.14. דּוֹר חֲרָבוֹת שִׁנָּיו וּמַאֲכָלוֹת מְתַלְּעֹתָיו לֶאֱכֹל עֲנִיִּים מֵאֶרֶץ וְאֶבְיוֹנִים מֵאָדָם׃ 30.15. לַעֲלוּקָה שְׁתֵּי בָנוֹת הַב הַב שָׁלוֹשׁ הֵנָּה לֹא תִשְׂבַּעְנָה אַרְבַּע לֹא־אָמְרוּ הוֹן׃ 30.16. שְׁאוֹל וְעֹצֶר רָחַם אֶרֶץ לֹא־שָׂבְעָה מַּיִם וְאֵשׁ לֹא־אָמְרָה הוֹן׃ 30.18. שְׁלֹשָׁה הֵמָּה נִפְלְאוּ מִמֶּנִּי וארבע [וְאַרְבָּעָה] לֹא יְדַעְתִּים׃ 30.19. דֶּרֶךְ הַנֶּשֶׁר בַּשָּׁמַיִם דֶּרֶךְ נָחָשׁ עֲלֵי צוּר דֶּרֶךְ־אֳנִיָּה בְלֶב־יָם וְדֶרֶךְ גֶּבֶר בְּעַלְמָה׃ 30.21. תַּחַת שָׁלוֹשׁ רָגְזָה אֶרֶץ וְתַחַת אַרְבַּע לֹא־תוּכַל שְׂאֵת׃ 30.22. תַּחַת־עֶבֶד כִּי יִמְלוֹךְ וְנָבָל כִּי יִשְׂבַּע־לָחֶם׃ 30.23. תַּחַת שְׂנוּאָה כִּי תִבָּעֵל וְשִׁפְחָה כִּי־תִירַשׁ גְּבִרְתָּהּ׃ 30.24. אַרְבָּעָה הֵם קְטַנֵּי־אָרֶץ וְהֵמָּה חֲכָמִים מְחֻכָּמִים׃ 30.25. הַנְּמָלִים עַם לֹא־עָז וַיָּכִינוּ בַקַּיִץ לַחְמָם׃ 30.26. שְׁפַנִּים עַם לֹא־עָצוּם וַיָּשִׂימוּ בַסֶּלַע בֵּיתָם׃ 30.27. מֶלֶךְ אֵין לָאַרְבֶּה וַיֵּצֵא חֹצֵץ כֻּלּוֹ׃ 30.28. שְׂמָמִית בְּיָדַיִם תְּתַפֵּשׂ וְהִיא בְּהֵיכְלֵי מֶלֶךְ׃ 30.29. שְׁלֹשָׁה הֵמָּה מֵיטִיבֵי צָעַד וְאַרְבָּעָה מֵיטִבֵי לָכֶת׃ 30.31. זַרְזִיר מָתְנַיִם אוֹ־תָיִשׁ וּמֶלֶךְ אַלְקוּם עִמּוֹ׃ | 1.6. To understand a proverb, and a figure; The words of the wise, and their dark sayings." 6.16. There are six things which the LORD hateth, Yea, seven which are an abomination unto Him:" 6.17. Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood;" 6.19. A false witness that breatheth out lies, And he that soweth discord among brethren." 7.6. For at the window of my house I looked forth through my lattice;" 7.7. And I beheld among the thoughtless ones, I discerned among the youths, A young man void of understanding," 7.8. Passing through the street near her corner, And he went the way to her house;" 7.9. In the twilight, in the evening of the day, In the blackness of night and the darkness." 7.10. And, behold, there met him a woman With the attire of a harlot, and wily of heart." 7.11. She is riotous and rebellious, Her feet abide not in her house;" 7.12. Now she is in the streets, now in the broad places, And lieth in wait at every corner." 7.13. So she caught him, and kissed him, And with an impudent face she said unto him:" 7.14. ’Sacrifices of peace-offerings were due from me; This day have I paid my vows." 7.15. Therefore came I forth to meet thee, To seek thy face, and I have found thee." 7.16. I have decked my couch with coverlets, With striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt." 7.17. I have perfumed my bed With myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon." 7.18. Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning; Let us solace ourselves with loves." 7.19. For my husband is not at home, He is gone a long journey;" 7.20. He hath taken the bag of money with him; He will come home at the full moon.’" 7.21. With her much fair speech she causeth him to yield, With the blandishment of her lips she enticeth him away." 7.22. He goeth after her straightway, As an ox that goeth to the slaughter, Or as one in fetters to the correction of the fool;" 7.23. Till an arrow strike through his liver; As a bird hasteneth to the snare— And knoweth not that it is at the cost of his life." 24.30. I went by the field of the slothful, And by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;" 24.31. And, lo, it was all grown over with thistles, The face thereof was covered with nettles, And the stone wall thereof was broken down." 24.33. ’Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep’—" 30.6. Add thou not unto His words, Lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar." 30.11. There is a generation that curse their father, And do not bless their mother." 30.14. There is a generation whose teeth are as swords, and their great teeth as knives, To devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men." 30.15. The horseleech hath two daughters: ‘Give, give.’ There are three things that are never satisfied, Yea, four that say not: ‘Enough’:" 30.16. The grave; and the barren womb; The earth that is not satisfied with water; And the fire that saith not: ‘Enough.’" 30.18. There are three things which are too wonderful for me, Yea, four which I know not:" 30.19. The way of an eagle in the air; The way of a serpent upon a rock; The way of a ship in the midst of the sea; And the way of a man with a young woman." 30.21. For three things the earth doth quake, And for four it cannot endure:" 30.22. For a servant when he reigneth; And a churl when he is filled with food;" 30.23. For an odious woman when she is married; And a handmaid that is heir to her mistress." 30.24. There are four things which are little upon the earth, But they are exceeding wise:" 30.25. The ants are a people not strong, Yet they provide their food in the summer;" 30.26. The rock-badgers are but a feeble folk, Yet make they their houses in the crags;" 30.27. The locusts have no king, Yet go they forth all of them by bands;" 30.28. The spider thou canst take with the hands, Yet is she in kings’palaces." 30.29. There are three things which are stately in their march, Yea, four which are stately in going:" 30.30. The lion, which is mightiest among beasts, And turneth not away for any;" 30.31. The greyhound; the he-goat also; And the king, against whom there is no rising up." |

| 22.22. If you have opened your mouth against your friend,do not worry, for reconciliation is possible;but as for reviling, arrogance, disclosure of secrets, or a treacherous blow -- in these cases any friend will flee. 22.22. So it is with a woman who leaves her husband and provides an heir by a stranger. 22.23. Gain the trust of your neighbor in his poverty,that you may rejoice with him in his prosperity;stand by him in time of affliction,that you may share with him in his inheritance. 22.23. For first of all, she has disobeyed the law of the Most High;second, she has committed an offense against her husband;and third, she has committed adultery through harlotry and brought forth children by another man. 27.9. Birds flock with their kind;so truth returns to those who practice it. 27.16. Whoever betrays secrets destroys confidence,and he will never find a congenial friend. 27.17. Love your friend and keep faith with him;but if you betray his secrets, do not run after him. 27.21. For a wound may be bandaged,and there is reconciliation after abuse,but whoever has betrayed secrets is without hope. |
