Thus saith the LORD, Who giveth the sun for a light by day, And the ordices of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, Who stirreth up the sea, that the waves thereof roar, The LORD of hosts is His name:"
11. Hebrew Bible, 2 Chronicles, 20.13, 23.12-23.15 (5th cent. BCE - 3rd cent. BCE)

20.13. And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children." 23.12. And when Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into the house of the LORD;" 23.13. and she looked, and, behold, the king stood on his platform at the entrance, and the captains and the trumpets by the king; and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets; the singers also [played] on instruments of music, and led the singing of praise. Then Athaliah rent her clothes, and said: ‘Treason, treason.’" 23.14. And Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds that were set over the host, and said unto them: ‘Have her forth between the ranks; and whoso followeth her, let him be slain with the sword’; for the priest said: ‘Slay her not in the house of the LORD.’" 23.15. So they made way for her; and she went to the entry of the horse gate to the king’s house; and they slew her there."
12. Hebrew Bible, Ezra, 10.1 (5th cent. BCE - 4th cent. BCE)

10.1. Now while Ezra prayed, and made confession, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there was gathered together unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children; for the people wept very sore."
13. Hebrew Bible, Nehemiah, 6.3 (5th cent. BCE - 4th cent. BCE)

6.3. And I sent messengers unto them, saying: ‘I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down; why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?’"
14. Septuagint, Ecclesiasticus (Siracides), 12.10-12.11 (2nd cent. BCE - 2nd cent. BCE)

12.11. Even if he humbles himself and goes about cringing, watch yourself, and be on your guard against him;and you will be to him like one who has polished a mirror, and you will know that it was not hopelessly tarnished.
15. Septuagint, Wisdom of Solomon, 7.26, 12.10-12.11 (2nd cent. BCE - 1st cent. BCE)

7.26. For she is a reflection of eternal light,a spotless mirror of the working of God,and an image of his goodness. 12.10. But judging them little by little thou gavest them a chance to repent, though thou wast not unaware that their origin was evil and their wickedness inborn, and that their way of thinking would never change. 12.11. For they were an accursed race from the beginning, and it was not through fear of any one that thou didst leave them unpunished for their sins.
16. Josephus Flavius, Jewish Antiquities, 3.261 (1st cent. CE - 1st cent. CE)

3.261. 3. He also ordered that those whose bodies were afflicted with leprosy, and that had a gonorrhea, should not come into the city; nay, he removed the women, when they had their natural purgations, till the seventh day; after which he looked on them as pure, and permitted them to come in again.
