And the prince, when they go in, shall go in in the midst of them; and when they go forth, they shall go forth together."
11. Hebrew Bible, 1 Chronicles, 21.30, 23.28, 23.32, 25.6, 28.13 (5th cent. BCE - 3rd cent. BCE)

21.30. But David could not go before it to inquire of God; for he was terrified because of the sword of the angel of the LORD." 23.28. For their station was at the side of the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of the house of God;" 23.32. and that they should keep the charge of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the holy place, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, for the service of the house of the LORD." 25.6. All these were under the hands of their fathers for song in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the direction of the king—Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman." 28.13. also for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and for all the vessels of service in the house of the LORD:"
12. Hebrew Bible, 2 Chronicles, 6.41, 24.12, 35.2, 35.16 (5th cent. BCE - 3rd cent. BCE)

24.12. And the king and Jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of the LORD; and they hired masons and carpenters to restore the house of the LORD, and also such as wrought iron and brass to repair the house of the LORD." 35.2. And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of the LORD." 35.16. So all the service of the LORD was prepared the same day, to keep the passover, and to offer burnt-offerings upon the altar of the LORD, according to the commandment of king Josiah."
13. Hebrew Bible, Nehemiah, 8.8, 10.3 (5th cent. BCE - 4th cent. BCE)

15. Septuagint, Ecclesiasticus (Siracides), 6.18-6.37, 24.1-24.12 (2nd cent. BCE - 2nd cent. BCE)

24.1. Wisdom will praise herself, and will glory in the midst of her people. 24.1. In the holy tabernacle I ministered before him,and so I was established in Zion. 24.2. In the assembly of the Most High she will open her mouth, and in the presence of his host she will glory: 24.2. For the remembrance of me is sweeter than honey, and my inheritance sweeter than the honeycomb. 24.3. I came forth from the mouth of the Most High, and covered the earth like a mist. 24.3. I went forth like a canal from a river and like a water channel into a garden. 24.4. I dwelt in high places, and my throne was in a pillar of cloud. 24.5. Alone I have made the circuit of the vault of heaven and have walked in the depths of the abyss. 24.6. In the waves of the sea, in the whole earth, and in every people and nation I have gotten a possession. 24.7. Among all these I sought a resting place;I sought in whose territory I might lodge. 24.8. Then the Creator of all things gave me a commandment, and the one who created me assigned a place for my tent. And he said, `Make your dwelling in Jacob, and in Israel receive your inheritance. 24.9. From eternity, in the beginning, he created me,and for eternity I shall not cease to exist. 24.11. In the beloved city likewise he gave me a resting place, and in Jerusalem was my dominion. 24.12. So I took root in an honored people,in the portion of the Lord, who is their inheritance.
16. Mishnah, Bava Batra, 2.9 (1st cent. CE - 3rd cent. CE)

2.9. Animal carcasses, graves and tanneries must be distanced fifty cubits from a town. A tannery may be set up only to the east of a town. Rabbi Akiva says: “It may be set up on any side save the west, and it must be distanced fifty cubits [from the town]."
17. New Testament, Apocalypse, 8.13 (1st cent. CE - 1st cent. CE)

8.13. I saw, and I heard an eagle, flying in mid heaven, saying with a loud voice, "Woe! Woe! Woe for those who dwell on the earth, because of the other voices of the trumpets of the three angels, who are yet to sound!
18. New Testament, Luke, 7.12 (1st cent. CE - 1st cent. CE)

7.12. Now when he drew near to the gate of the city, behold, one who was dead was carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. Many people of the city were with her.
19. Anon., 4 Baruch, 3.11, 9.2

3.11. Guard the vessels of the temple service until the gathering of the beloved. 9.2. But on the tenth, Jeremiah alone offered sacrifice.
